The roots of Schmidt Billiards and Game Rooms reach back to St. Louis, Missouri, where owner Fred Schmidt learned the pool table trade from his father, Harold, and the seasoned pool tables technicians at A.E. Schmidt Co. Fred's great-great-grandfather, Ernst Frederick Schmidt, founded the A.E. Schmidt Co. in 1850 and built a pool tables manufacturing business based on craftsmanship. A.E. Schmidt pool tables continue to be produced in St. Louis by the Schmidt family and are renowned for tables quality and durability.

Fred attended the University of Missouri at Columbia and after graduation he started a billiard table repair service in Columbia Missouri. Self-employed as a pool table technician, he discovered that there were many people and businesses in need of pool table repair and billiards supplies.

In 1986 Fred purchased some land and began selling pool tables and billiards supplies from a renovated garage. In the summer of 1993, pool table and billiards supplies sales were stronger than ever. Fred made the decision to follow in the footsteps of his ancestors and provide the highest quality pool table repair service and billiards store to the Central Missouri region.

SB&GR Storage

Moving to Bernadette Square in August of 1993 gave SB&GR a Columbia Missouri address. They continue at that location, recently expanding their billiards store floor space to over 5000 sq. ft. to accommodate more varieties of billiards supplies and home game rooms supplies such as game room bars, barstools, poker tables, hanging lamps, foosball, shuffleboard, air hockey, darts and more for your home game rooms.
